This project is about environmental pollution (HCB poisoning) in a valley in the Austrian alps. You cannot detect HCB (hexachlorobenzene) with your senses, you cannot see or smell it, for example. There is a stark contrast between the idyllic scenery and the hidden reality of HCB pollution.

 Project "Vom Stand der Dinge" 
2019 - 2023

The theme of this series is the social situation in the Uckermark, a sparsely populated region in North-Eastern Germany, in the autumn of 2019. The Uckermark was part of the DDR and suffered a tremendous loss of population and infrastructure after the "Mauerfall" in 1989.

This work was financed in part by the grant "Kunst&Umwelt" of Libken e.V., which is supported by the program "Neulandgewinner - Zukunft erfinden vor Ort" of the Robert-Bosch-Foundation.

Parts of this series was exhibited at extrazimmer in Salzburg, from October 9 to November 6, 2020.  The exhibition was curated by Margit Zuckriegl. 

A further selection of images was exhibited within  a group exhibition at Foto Wien 2022, in Galerie am Park, 1060 Vienna, 13.03.2022 - 26.03.202. This exhibition was curated by Herman Seidl, Fotohof Salzburg.
